Join us for our April Trimontium Talk! Towers in the North: How to Build a Broch with Kirsty Lilley and Pete MacRae.

Over the next four months, we contemplate, from North to South, the indigenous settlements encountered by the soldiers of Rome. We have therefore invited some of the top speakers versed in this sphere to give us the benefit of their knowledge.

The Caithness Broch Project is a charity run entirely by volunteers to promote the archaeological heritage of the far north of Scotland with a particular focus on brochs.  These circular, stone-built, Iron Age constructions are unique to Scotland. The Broch Project’s ultimate aim is to build the first full-size Broch in two thousand years as an iconic visitor attraction and educational research facility.

Kirsty Lilley is an archaeologist based in Edinburgh and a director of the Broch Project.  Pete MacRae is the Chairman of the Broch Project and has a background in journalism and communication.
