Step into the brutal and brilliant world of ancient Rome!

Join us for an action-packed experience exploring the fierce lives of Roman soldiers and gladiators. Through immersive technology and hands-on activities, you’ll uncover the thrilling—and sometimes gruesome—truths of Roman combat, siege and entertainment.

🎮 Activities Include:

  • Trimontium VR Experience – including NEW CONTENT from the forthcoming Battle of Burnswark Experience. Witness one of Scotland’s most dramatic Roman battles like never before.
  • Train like a Gladiator in the Gladius VR game – test your mettle in the arena!
  • Meet a Legionary Soldier – learn about life in the Roman army from a soldier in full kit.
  • Gladiators Gallery Trail – follow the trail to uncover fascinating facts and hidden details.

You’ll spend an hour participating in VR and virtual gladiatorial battle. You can then find out more from our Legionary soldier and enjoy the activities in the museum. This event is perfect for families, history fans, and anyone curious about the dramatic world of Roman warfare and spectacle.

Booking is required – spaces are limited per session, so secure your place early!
Suitable for Ages 8 and upwards– Children must be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately this event is not suitable for younger children due to the size of the VR/ haptic equipment and violent content. However, younger children will find lots of great activities in the museum.

Come face to face with history’s most fearsome fighters—if you dare!
