Trimontium @ Borders Book Festival 16-18 June 2022
Jun 29th 2022 | Frances Mann

The Trimontium Trust was delighted to take part in the Borders Book Festival this year by running a number of events at the Trimontium Marquee, in Abbey House Gardens. Starting with a great talk by Simon Elliot on Thursday 16th June, the first official event of the whole festival, our audiences were treated to a host of famous authors of the Roman and archaeological world: Fraser Hunter, Nick Hodgeson, Doug Jackson, Caroline Lawrence and Lindsey Davis were enthusiastically applauded and kindly stayed to sign books. Our own Chairman, Dr John Reid, spoke to a full-to-bursting marquee on Friday 17th about his work using drone technology and how using them can give archaeologists useful insights into their work in the landscape.

We are blown away by the audience response to these events and thank you to everyone who came along. Here are a few pictures of the Festival, including some of our amazing team of volunteers who helped set up the marquee and provided a friendly welcome to all.
