The Trimontium Museum opens for the 2025 on Friday 14th February, just in time for half term holidays. Come and see your favourite Roman Museum in Scotland and explore our wonderful collection of artefacts from Trimontium, the Borders and beyond.

You’ll be able to watch our fantastic films, try on Roman helmets, and take part in some of our favourite children’s activities. You’ll be able to create your own Roman helmet to scare the natives or find our lost Romans in the gallery.

Until the end of February, children can enter our Art Competition. Draw a picture of Romans, items in the gallery, animals….whatever you like and all artworks will be entered into our competition. They will also be put on display so visitors can admire the fantastic talents of our young legionaries. There will be winners across age categories, who will win a fantastic Trimontium Goody bag.

All activities are free with entry to the museum.
