Join local mosaic artist Joy Parker in making a beautiful snail mosaic in the style of the ancient Roman Mosaics.

Make a mosaic inspired by nature as part of our summer holiday events programme. Snails often appeared in ancient Roman food mosaics as they were bred and fattened specifically for the feasting tables of the elite.

You can create your own design using the contemporary mediums of ceramic and vitreous glass tiles, but always using the Roman rules of mosaic making to guide your flow. Grouting will be demonstrated on the day and partipants will get a small bag of Grout to take away. Mosaic is for indoors only display.

This workshop is great for people of all ages although younger children will need the help of an adult.

Teas and coffees will be available. There will be a lunch break- you can bring your own lunch or there are shops available nearby to purchase refreshments.

We do hope you can join us!

You can also RSVP and share the event with friends on FACEBOOK!
