Excerpt from Burnwark VR showing a ballista aimed at the hillfort

Introducing a  first -of-its-kind immersive experience- a cinematic recreation of a Roman assault on the native hill fort of Burnswark, where silence fell harder than swords. Through cutting-edge visuals, atmospheric sound and haunting storytelling, witness one of the most significant and sobering moments on Scotland’s ancient frontier. A dramatic and thought-provoking window into life and conflict on the edge of the empire…

Place our VR set on your head and learn more about the story of our native peoples and their experience at the mercy of the Roman Invaders here in the South of Scotland.

If you’ve already seen our Trimontium VR, this experience will show you the other side of the story, through the eyes of the native peoples.

The Burnswark VR Experience operates on specific dates only.Booking in advance is essential.

Please note the minimum age for children is 8 years due to the content and design of the experience. Your ticket also includes entry to gallery so there is no need to buy a separate ticket for a museum visit.
