Young Volunteers win Inspire Award for Team Effort
Dec 14th 2023 | Frances Mann
Young volunteers receiving their Inspire Award

We are delighted to announce that our Young Volunteers at Trimontium won an award at the recent Scottish Borders Inspire Award ceremony in Kelso, which recognises excellence and achievement in volunteering by young people.

The Trimontium Volunteers won the Team Effort Award, in recognition of the great work they have been doing at our events, in the museum, in our behind-the-scenes teams, doing valuable work for the Trust and engaging with our visitors. They have also developed new skills, increased confidence and met personal challenges through their volunteering, and we couldn’t be prouder of our young volunteers.

About 20% of our volunteers are under the age of 25, and we work with a number of youth and educational organisations to provide work experience for youngsters- short and long term. We also work with a number of young volunteers with personal challenges to overcome and we strive to create a safe, nurturing environment for them to develop and grow.

Congratulations to all our young volunteers! Three of them were there on the night to collect the award- Nicole Brown, Leona Brown and Daisy Mann.
