2021 looks set to be an exciting & busy year as we get ready to open our stunning new museum in The Ormiston, Melrose.
Our temporary exhibition in Abbey House, Melrose will reopen at the end of April 2021 along with our popular guided walks, followed later in the summer by the opening of the new museum with more objects, new interpretation, previously unseen loans and a programme of events and activities for all.
At Abbey House visitors can learn about the fort site at nearby Newstead, see Roman finds from the Trust’s collection, watch a newly commissioned film, see our newly acquired working, replica Roman ballistae (bolt throwers) and learn about the Trust’s exciting new development project.
We also run guided walks to the Trimontium fort site from the museum gardens on a regular basis, see our events page for the next walk. We also organise talks, lectures and events throughout the year and as the COVID restictions change we will advertise these though our events page & social media.
