David C. Weinczok FSAScot – Heritage Interpretation Officer (HALO)

David joined Trimontium in January 2024. He is a historian, presenter, and writer of Scottish historical non-fiction and creative non-fiction. David previously researched and promoted Scotland’s built and intangible heritage with organisations including The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Archaeology Scotland, National Museums Scotland, and the National Trust for Scotland.

David is currently working on his second book, one chapter of which focuses on the Eildon Hills and Melrose area, and has visited nearly 450 castles across Scotland since moving to Edinburgh from Canada in 2011. Along with Rob and Thania, David delivers our Hands on History and Trimontium Experience sessions.
