Our May Trimontium Talk is all about the Roman Slingshot and a celebration of Professor Keppie’s new book!

Lead sling bullets are often the only surviving trace of military engagements otherwise lost to history. Found from Syria to Scotland, they are enduring artefacts that tell us about the power and reach of the Roman Army. This talk investigates the weapon and celebrates Prof. Keppie’s important new book on inscribed bullets from the Roman Republic.

This talk will take place in person at the museum and online via Zoom.

Are you ready to learn all about the Roman Slingshot? We hope to see you there!
