Money Speaks: the value (and limitations) of coin evidence in relation to the northern frontier in Britain.

Richard Brickstock worked at the Universities of Durham and Leeds from 1984 to 2013 as a researcher and lecturer and as the Curator of Durham Castle Museum. He is now a freelance numismatic researcher, specializing in Roman Imperial coinage. The author of numerous articles and coin reports, much of his research relates to the northern frontiers and the north-east of Britannia. Tonight’s talk is based on a series of papers considering the value of numismatic data in relation to the Flavian, Hadrianic and Antonine frontiers in Britain.
