What did the Romans ever do for us? The answer often lies in the garden. This talk explores how the Roman invasion had a lasting impact on British horticulture, with the introduction of new plants, new tools, and new ways of laying out the land.

Lindsay Allason-Jones is an Honorary Fellow at Newcastle University, having been Director of Archaeological Museums and then Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Artefact Studies before her retirement.
