Join us as the Trimontium Legion invade Museum on the Mound for a day of family activities, dance & crafts

Just as the Legions did 1900 years ago, the Romans are marching from Trimontium, up Dere Street to Cramond Fort, but we’re setting up camp on the Mound for one day only!

Our friends at the fantastic Museum on the Mound have invited us to join them in bringing our history to life. Based near the top of the Mound, in Edinburgh’s Old Town, the museum tells the story of Money in Scotland, and as the bringer of the first coins to Caledonia, the Romans will feel right at home!

As well as striking coins, visiting the Museum and taking part in loads of craft activities, on Saturday 1st June you can can also visit the Roman camp in the museum grounds, watch Roman dance performances, find out about life in the legions and discover exactly what the Romans did for us……and our money.

All the activities are free, and access to the Museum on the Mound is free all year round. There is no need to book, just drop by and say hello and find out all about our valuable heritage.
